My bright idea for Christmas
« on: 12/08-08:21 »

I was thinking about what to get for my eldest daughter and her family for Christmas this year. Thought a 3D printer would be something they would all enjoy. It's the type of gift I would dare get without discussing it with my daughter first. She likes to do her own research on this type of thing, so I let her know what I was thinking and the unit I thought would work.

After doing her own research she agreed on what I had in mind, so I had her buy it on her account but on my wife's and my card. One of the things she does is review the things she buys on amazon. It gets her sample products and free gifts. The more she has looked into it, the more she has gotten rather excited about the whole thing. My son-in-law and their kids do a lot of 3D programming so they'll be able to use some of designs they have made to make things. My daughter is thinking she can also make her own parts for things around the house.

I suspect they are going to really enjoy this gift. The fact my wife is really pleased with the idea doesn't hurt. She's a hard woman to impress --especially since she's been more concerned about me overdoing it then anything else the last few years.
